Now you will obey

From Stuff:

The pupils' families were told yesterday and the boys will face unspecified disciplinary action.

And:

Earlier this month, Lincoln University fined 15 students $200, made them write an essay on the Holocaust and visit the Holocaust Centre and the German embassy, both in Wellington, at their own expense. They had attended a party last month dressed as Nazis and concentration camp victims.

Naturally, Joris de Bres is flapping his chops as well:

...I expect the school to deal with it, as they appear to be doing.

Yeah, way to demonstrate our staunch opposition to fascism - forcibly deprive people of their freedom of expression. If these students had anything between the legs they'd be telling these jumped-up little Hitlers to get fucked.

Look, Joris - a swastika! Oh no!

It could be worse Milt......
They could force them to read some of the shit you write, like this post.

Seriously, where is your head at? These kids have got no idea what insult they are performing, and they are being made aware of it. No big deal, end of story.

It was just Milt's way of getting a National Socialist banner up there, Tips. ;-)

Christopher Thomson said...

MrTips you are a twit. So a few kids had a bit of a laugh over some symbol that idiots like you have allowed to become a symbol of the usual 'anti'rebellion teenagers indulge in. Shame you don't feel so strongly about all the other symbols used by dictators and genocidal killers. Be like Keith Locke and congratulate Pol Pot. Or maybe all those idiots that parade the hammer and sickle and celebrate the slaughter of innocents that far exceed anything those socilaist nazis' ever achieved. Che Guevara is another muderous nut that I bet you love. How about Robert mugabe and Zimbabwe? So instead of getting your panites in a twist over harmless kids antics -get a whiff or reality and lose your hypocracy.

Milty! Brilliant! All is forgiven. You may be a twisting little snark over Libertarianism but you are bang on with this post.(hugs);-)

PC bedwetters and hypocrites blowing a stupid school boy stunt into a national outrage.....Rand save us!

Funny, that's just what the Muslims said re the Danish cartoons fiasco. If we're to start punishing people for having bad taste that offends someone, where does it end? Let me tell ya, I've got a list of offenders a yard long.

Lindsay said...

If my boy did this I'd sit him down to watch something like The Pianist or Sophie's Choice.

Some context wouldn't go amiss but otherwise your point is well made PM.

MrTips said...

Mr Thomson: I am neither pregnant nor a goldfish.

Milt: to be honest I didn't agree with the Danish cartoon saga either on some levels. Much like I don't agree with using offensive satire to make a point. Because then your point is lost. You can disagree and make a statement, without ruining your point in an offensive way. All the cartoons did was make Muslims think even more we as Westerners are infidels. you might think it broke barriers - did it really?

Back to the case in point: if you were of Jewish descent in NZ, and you saw these kids doing what they did. How would you feel? Pretty shitty I would have thought. That they are rebellious teens is not the point: what they are DOING is the point.

By the same logic, should we not ban episode 6 of Fawlty Towers?

The real lesson to be learned from the history of the twentieth century is the that spelled out so lucidly in Friedrich von Hayek’s “Road to Serfdom”.
Briefly: Socialism requires its subjects to act against their individual best interests, and, because that goes against human nature, socialist regimes have to resort to ever more coercive and punitive methods to achieve their ends. Hence fascism/ communism is not distinct from social democracy, but is its inevitable evolutionary endpoint.
Hayek puts it far better than that, so read him.
World War II was primarily a struggle between the near identical twins of fascism and communism, differing only in the outsider groups on which they cared to lay blame for their own deficiencies. Both sides committed horrific acts of genocide. If anything, the Soviets, with Western acquiescence, killed more innocents, and more cruelly, than did the Nazis.
One of the crimes of NZ political correctness is the continued denial of Allied culpability in the causation of both world wars and in their terrible human toll.

Psycho Milt said...

...if you were of Jewish descent in NZ, and you saw these kids doing what they did. How would you feel?

Angry. And I'd probably make that pretty clear to them. No doubt descendents of victims of the hammer-and-sickle-wavers feel the same way when they see kids treating that symbol as cool or funny, but for some reason no-one seems to give a shit what offends them. Either way, I don't see anyone needing punishments inflicted on them for it.

That they are rebellious teens is not the point: what they are DOING is the point.

What they're doing is failing to show respect for something you personally feel they should - as is their right. You can force people to feign respect, but you can't force them to feel it. The punishments in these two cases are simply a marketing matter for the organisations concerned, nothing more.

In fact thats not what they were doing. They actually being dickheads, but you standing up for the right to be a dickhead is equally as unsuprising.

The Cane would have sorted them out six of the best. These kids are obviously ill disciplined and have no concept of either their schools or their ancestor's heritage. Like Milt they have been indoctrinated by Socialist teachers and have no concept of patriotism.

Twit
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Twit can mean:

* A British slang word for an insignificant, foolish or annoying person.

If it's in Wiki then it must be true!

Gosh we must get all those gang members who have swastikas and wear coal-scuttle helmets to line up and apologise too.

Oh wait; no we can't; we don't scare them. They tell us to get f**ked. Add gutless bully to the description of everyone picking on these kids.

PM Try your provocative shite in Israel and you'll soon learn about freedom of expression. You'll be freely expressing your teeth through your khyber.

And there's still a few old returned men in NZ that would knock that chip off your shoulder with their zimmer frames. Their memories are all too vivid of friends maimed and killed by card carrying nazi cunts.

James: I have a lot of sympathy for some aspects of libertarianism - just don't do the whole reductio ad absurdium thing that the Libz have going.

Murray: you should have stopped at "stand up for people's rights."

George: the fact that some Israelis and returned servicemen are ill-tempered and violent isn't news. This whole concept of "I feel very strongly about this so it trumps any rights you may have" is exactly what Muslims base their case for "punishing" Geert Wilders on. Tell 'em fuck.

Christopher Thomson said...

Oh, and we must stop driving Japanese cars too. Seeing as what they did to our servicemen and civilians was pretty much as nasty. But no let's not go there. We must keep our principles and only go for the the easy target.

I can't believe how all of you, every last one, each pushing his own barrow (including Milt who posted it), can't see what this REALLY means, which is:

1) Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

ps - comparison of the Nazis with the current Islamist situation is pointless, and off-target (if you've got 10 minutes, I'll explain why). Be here NOW, and grow a pair.

Psycho Milt said...

Yeah, it's amazing how no-one realises the Nazis were bad guys these days. If only there were some information out there indicating the true nature of the regime - why doesn't someone make a movie or write a book about it?

I see one of Cresswell's dumbfuck sycophants is here doing the usual crosswired crosseyed defender of liberty impersonation.

This is interaction between a private school and fee paying customers drongo. Its nothing to do with any real concept of liberty or the destruction of it. Whether you agree with the actions or support the actions of the school management, it don't matter a damn because its the free market at work.

Attempting to insert some faux Libertarian aspect into this debate just shows how desperate you are for a real cause.

As for you Milt, posturing as some defender of liberty when you deleted my posts on this blog because I wouldn't write what you demanded I write. Fuck off with that act. You're a petty little socialist tyrant and authoritarian who has amply demonstrated just what you would do if you only had the power.

Number one reason why Europe was liberated was freedom to support whatever political system These lads were wrong. A bad choice but it is there right to make a bad choice.
As it was Keith locks bad choice to support Pol Pot. Or Phil in Goff bad choice to walk hand in hand with a terrorist. Then there is Peters anti Asian agenda. All really bad choices. But it is there right even if they are wrong.

Someone who tells me to go away from my own blog shortly after pontificating about property rights will find it's actually him who goes away. I see no contradiction between that and this post.

liberty might learn something from the exercise of asking a few survivors from Eastern and Central Europe or the Baltic States which was worse, the occupation or the liberation.

Redbaiter ... pray tell, since when has Auckland Grammar School been a "private" school?

Some parents may see AGS as a psuedo private school but private it ain't, never has been and never wiil be.

As for Milt. In WW2 the fight for freedom (of expression) cost many young Kiwis their lives. They did not lay down their lives to see some young idiots from (in the main) privaleged Auckland suburbs pay homage to the regime that killed them. Your posturing in support of so called free speach is sickening. Is your position that of your political masters?

Psycho Milt said...

They either laid down their lives for freedom, or they didn't. No returns, no refunds.

Milt ... to respond

1. You mean you arn't Labour?

2. When you're in the shit stop digging. Guess you support the BNP too (as are many from the UK Labour heartland).

To see you aligning yourselfr with the wackier end of the Libertianz an't particularly edifying.

Psycho Milt said...

1. Haven't voted for 'em for over 20 years. In any case, Labour are even less keen on freedom of expression than National - witness all their schoolmarm pants-wetting about "hate speech."

2. I support the BNP's right to express opinions and canvass votes, yes. That's not the wackier end of libertarianism, it's plain old democracy.

Hey George, I know some British ex-servicemen who spent some time in Palestine pre 1948. To put it politely, they would beg to differ with you - they had mates who were maimed too.

Redbaiter said...

"Some parents may see AGS as a psuedo private school but private it ain't, never has been and never wiil be."

Fair enough, I accept that correction to detail. Nevertheless, the school has always displayed an independence of management that sets it apart from other state schools.

Still, we are debating a principle here, and I agree with everyone who states that what the scholars did was reprehensible, and it is right that you should voice your objection to what occurred as stridently as you wish, but you must draw the line at calling for government regulation or any government involvement.

Of course at the bottom of this whole issue is the National party's subjugation to the left on education. If the Nats had stuck to their principles, and demonstrated the courage of their convictions, the education system would not have become, like so many of our public institutions, a tool of the left, and children would therefore know the history of the Nazis and other totalitarian regimes.

Once again, at the root of this situation, is the Nat's failure to pursue the political ideology they profess to hold dear. You brought this upon yourselves with your spineless failure to fight the left's domination of our culture.
