Good Timing - Updated

Today the new education standards were announced - to the dismay of the the education Gestapo.

Two things were notable.

The timing. The first results will be published in two years time. Adolf wonders if that will just happen to be a few months before a general election. Just to remind parents that Labour would rather they didn't know how little Johnny's school was doing.

The throw away phrase. "...the standards would be introduced in all English-based primary and intermediate schools..."

Is there some other type of school? Oh yes, silly me. Kura Kaupapa. So why on earth are they not required to adhere to some decent standards?

The best part of all is that the responsibility for publishing the results lies with trustees, not principals. The trustees will be personally liable under the provisions of the Trustees Act if they fail to publish so they will have no hesitation in firing teachers who attempt to sabotage the process.

You can guarantee some will try.

Update: And they've started, by carefully dressing up the campaign as a 'forum.'

A self impossed class system created by Maori for Maori.

Good luck with that.

Lets see how employers feel about the results.

Yep. Racism raises it wonderful head again. Must have been another 'deal' the Maori Party did for their 'people' It must have been for the Maori parties buy in to having standards for everyone else that is.

Still it is consistant with the belief that Maori are not expected to do well or be accountable or responsible like the rest of us. After all they are the victims of colonists and too fragile to get over the 'hurt they feel and the mana they have lost'

Yep: basically that's it: we're purging the Stalinists. And a fucking good thing it is too.

Just like promotion in the cops, unless you were a paid-up member of the Labour party you haven't been able to get a principal's job for the last 10 years.

Tolley is changing that - and how!

And in a couple of years, once the results are out and everyone can see that state (Labour Party) schools are utterly crap and that only private schools provide good education then they can stop wasting my taxes "edumacating" kids whose parents don't care about them
