No sailing ships this time.

In days gone by it was the terrible white person who sailed around the world, setting up colonies and taking advantage of the poor unsuspecting locals.

Of course we now pay the price of the guilt for such heinous actions by our ancestors.

So I wonder if the Chinese and Indians will face the same criticisms and guilt some time in the future. And will they leave behind a democratic legacy and excellent infrastructure.

Somehow I don't think so.

I've just been reading that story in the Bangkok paper The Nation only a few moments ago.
I somehow doubt the Chinese and Indian legacy will be as great.
I bet were it not for the excellent civil service and railway infrastructure the british empire left behind, as well as the English langtuage, India would not be the success it is today.
What failings India had stemmed from its decades of socialism.

Not just the socialism Lou - worshipping cows while starving, instead of eating them, is pretty stupid.

I just wonder if these countries will give as much in aid.
