Gordon Brown, you absolute shit!

I'm not the most emotional of people, but reading the Daily Mail over breakfast this morning brought tears to my eyes.
On the front page was an upsetting story about two young lads who went off to War in Afghanistan.
The two friends had barely just arrived when a bomb went off, killing one and injuring the other.
The 18-year-olds look so innocent and fresh faced that they should be handling toys in Hamleys rather than handling the Taliban in Helmund province. And in doing their the best for queen and country, one of them joined the 7 or so other Brits that have lost their lives in Afghanistan this week.
Turning over the page, my sadness turned to anger and contempt.
Many of the deaths, it seems, are happening in vain. The tragedies could be avoided considerably were it not for one Gordon Brown.
A former army leader is blaming cost cutting for the British army being so ill-equipped that lives are being needlesslessly lost.
He notes while other government departments have enjoyed burgeoning budgets, the armed forces have not, and that is thanks to the former Chancellor now residing in Number 10.
His comments follow other commentaries about the British army being ill equipped to do their jobs properly and needlessly risk the lives of our boys. The Amercians have said as much as well. So I will say it once more, 'You are a shit Gordon Brown, an utter and contemptible shit!'
If we must have troops in Afghanistan, and I believe we should, they should have all the equipment and resources they need, especially when not doing so put their lives in greater danger. Not to do so, just shows a contempt for our armed forces and all the good things we expect of them. I'm not sure what else I can add, but can the Brown government sink any lower?

Fairfacts, the Brit army has always been underfunded and poorly equipped when compared to plenty of others. That's not new.But at least these days the government finds it harder to cover up the scandals!
As for very young men dying..they always have. War is a young man's business, at last at the sharp end. I found the Brit newspaper's coverage of this nauseating.

Agreed - look at just about any conflict the Brits have engaged in from the Crimea onwards. Fairfacts: if you're really upset about this and it's leading you to hate Gordon Brown, I suggest you never, ever read much about the Falklands War - your hero-worship of Thatcher would be put under severe strain...

Good grief! Milt and KG agree? Has there been a mutual visit to Versailles?

Maybe tactics should be looked at again.

Give the Northern Alliance all the army surplus weapons they want and then some. Forget about a "Hearts and Minds" operation and declare the south of Afghanistan a "free fire zone". Every target is a legitimate target. Time to deal with the vermin.

Fuel-air bombs are our friend.

Let's make with the boom boom!!
