I'm in a good mood

I went to a breakfast this morning and heard the chief economist from Westpac talking about the unprecedented times we live in. You could be very worried by what he said, but then we listened to Mahe Drysdale speak about the absolute hard work effort he puts into his life and rowing. It made me realise again that the combination of a clear goal and human spirit is a wonderful gift.

The thing about the economic problems facing us, is that everybody is affected. Nobody will escape some consequence of the financial meltdown. Every job, whether private or public, every business, every retired person will have some impact craters in their backyard. There really is nowhere to hide.

The measure of us as a people will be how we respond.

Our politicans cannot and should not be asked to provide all the answers.

Hard work and belief are the real solution
We have to look to ourselves and do our best, every day.

If we all give our best then our country will repay us one hundred fold.
And our politicians will be there to support us, not rule us.
