If Only They Knew

If only they knew how stupid they sound.

The panelists and host on this afternoon's Radiow LW Jim Mora show.

There they were bleating about how the Republicans adverts are attacking Obama, how it will be the end of civilization if Obama is not elected and the grand daddy stupid comment of all from some dip shitted so called expert John Bishop who opined:

"The race is ties. It's neck and neck."

Well, perhaps he hasn't seen that McCain is three points ahead in the national popular vote, taking the lead in all the battle ground states and most significantly, is currently 20 ahead in the electoral college vote.

When will RadioLW drop its preference for died in the wool leftists and get some people onto the air who actually have some intelligence?

It depends where you look Adolf.

I wouldn't get too cocky. I suspect Palin will end up being a negative and today's financial meltdown is not necessarily going to be a bonus for the Republicans.

It beggars comprehension (in my humble opinion) that they could be so stupid as to reelect a Republican after last 8 years.

I mean you would have to be pretty fucking stupid to reelect Helen after her track record of the last few years but the elephant in the room here is you are expecting Americans to be that dumb.

Triumph is pretty funny BTW. "Fox News....you swing to the right more than Anne Coulter's strap on"

Relax, Ackers--everybody knows just how little it takes to beggar your comprehension.

The current system does not reliably reflect the nationwide popular vote. The statewide winner-take-all rules makes it possible for a candidate to win the Presidency without winning the most popular votes nationwide. This has occurred in one of every 14 presidential elections.

In the past six decades, there have been six presidential elections in which a shift of a relatively small number of votes in one or two states would have elected (and, of course, in 2000, did elect) a presidential candidate who lost the popular vote nationwide.

Nationwide popular election of the President is the only system that makes all states competitive, guarantees that the candidate with the most popular votes nationwide wins the Presidency, and makes every vote equal.

The National Popular Vote bill would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states (and DC).

Every vote would be politically relevant and equal in presidential elections.

The bill would take effect only when enacted, in identical form, by states possessing a majority of the electoral votes—that is, enough electoral votes to elect a President (270 of 538). When the bill comes into effect, all the electoral votes from those states would be awarded to the presidential candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states (and DC).

The National Popular Vote bill has passed 21 state legislative chambers, including one house in Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, North Carolina, and Washington, and both houses in California, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The bill has been enacted by Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, and Maryland. These four states possess 50 electoral votes — 19% of the 270 necessary to bring the law into effect.

The Left just don't get it. Sarah is a game changer. Thanks to her McCain is going straight to the White House.

All their whining and moaning just boosts the margin of victory for McCain. Nice.

ackers, if the yanks were being offered another term of Bush, you'd be right. We're being offered Hulun again...

This says it better than most:

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

* If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your
grandparents, you're "exotic,
different, un-American."

* Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, and
you're the quintessential
American story.

* If your name is Barack you're a radical,
unpatriotic Muslim.

* Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're
labelled a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are
unstable.

* Attend 6 different small colleges before graduating,
you're well
grounded.

* If you spend 3 years right after college as a
brilliant community
organizer, become the first black President of the
Harvard Law Review, create a
voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new
voters, spend 12 years as a
Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a
State Senator representing a
district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of
the state Senate's
Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in
the United States Senate
representing a state of 13 million people while
sponsoring 131 bills and
serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public
Works and Veterans'
Affairs committees, you don't have any real
leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4
years on the city council
and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than
6,000 people, 20 months as
the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then
you're qualified to
become the country's second highest ranking
executive, and potentially
President.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19
years while raising 2
beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches,
you're not a real
Christian.

* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich
heiress, and left your
disfigured wife and married the heiress the next
month, you're a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex
education, including the
proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fibre
of society.

* If, while governor, you staunchly advocate
abstinence only, with no
other option in sex education in your state's
school system while your unwed teen
daughter ends up pregnant, you're very
responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave
up a position in a
prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her
inner-city community,
then gave that up to raise a family, your family's
values don't represent
America's.

* If you're husband is nicknamed "First
Dude", with at least one DWI
conviction and no college education, who didn't
register to vote until age 25 and
once was a member of a group that advocated the
secession of Alaska from the
USA, your family is extremely admirable and patriotic.

..........OK, it's all much clearer now!

ACKERS: it's not about electing a Republican, it's about electing someone with the ability to be President. The closest the Democrats came to that this time was Hillary - and you saw what the Dems themselves did there, they didn't need any help shooting themselves in the foot at all (mind you, Obama's proving really good at that - god help him if he ever comes up against some real terrorists).
