I used to like TV3, particularly its News, which I thought was a bit harder hitting than One News, more "investigative" if you like.
However, there was nothing to like about tonight's lead story where duncan garner, who has joined clark, cullen and peters in being undeserving of capital letters, attempted to portray a meeting between John Key and Lord Ashcroft as some sort of sinister get together that should be seen by the great unwashed as being the equivalent of anything peters, clark and Owen Glenn have been up to.
If anyone has no idea of what constitutes a beatup, then check out the breathless bollocks from garner and the patsy questions from the news anchor. News ??? I dont think so.
I dont trust garner, and if Key doesnt seem to keen too answer his questions, then I'd venture to suggest that he doesn't trust him either. After all this is the individual that, complete with bright red tie and great fanfare, brought us the three secret tapes and who probably still has a few others in his top drawer ready for release at what he, or others, consider the opportune moment.
Well dunc, if National do end up forming the next government, then the the guys at the stranded will be out of a job, and thus available for roles in your totally unbiased newsroom. I'm sure you'll all get on well together.
