Winston Peters

I haven't posted on Winston Peters because Fairfacts has it covered along with every other blog and paper in the country.
What I would say is that Clark will never sack him in a million years.

The only truth we have is that soon the voters of this country will have the opportunity to express their view for one single day.

New Zealand First supporters should take a long hard look in the mirror that day and ask themselves this question.

Has Peters has made a positive contribution to the well being of New Zealand over the past 20 or so years, or has he ceaselessly manipulated you for his own benefit?

If you think the former then in all honesty you are getting exactly what you deserve. Vote for him and you have just put the boot into your country once more. The difference this time is that your country is now on the ropes and may not be so quick to get up.

Update . The excellent Homepaddock has just made the same point but much more eloquently

At risk of turning this into a mutual admiration society - that's a very good question.

Surely the current situation shows Helen 1 as either a complete dummy (which she's not) or a manipulative minx (which she most certainly is).

To suggest, yesterday, that she had to take legal advice on the issue of what constituted a gift to a minister was surely beyond even her own view of how many impossible things the voting public of New Zealand can believe before breakfast!

Peters ran up a personal bill with a Barister sole (who is not allowed a trust account!)

Someone other than Peters paid an amount of money off that bill.

Peters no longer owes that money to anyone.

It was a gift.

If the Prime Minister cannot see the purity of such simple logic, there is NO WAY she should be left in-charge of the country. Someone should apply for a commital under the mental health Act. Surely there are two doctors of medicine in Parliament who could start the ball rolling!

The sudden strong and unequivocal support for Winston from Liabour means that Winston has done a deal to support the Tyrants emissions trading scheme....Gets to keep the 100 grand too.....Baxter
