Over at the Hive, Queen Bee is speculating about the political ambitions of 'journalist' Rod Oram.
The esteemed blog buzzes about Oram's enthusiasm for things environmental and how he dissed opponents of the government's ETS on Environment Day this week.
A breath of fresh air swept through New Zealand this past week. World Environment Day was a welcome relief after months of self-serving, narrow-minded politicking from sections of business determined to kill off constructive climate change and energy legislation.
Now, Adolf regularly used to complain about Oram's socialism and I have too. I recall a piece batting for Dick Hubbard and the leftist City Vision last year, which most upset Gooner.
But our complaints against Oram seem to have stopped, and certainly I tend not to read his outpourings. Perhaps Adolf has done likewise.
Anyway, Queen Bee says Oram is the kind of figure Labour seeks and adds:
"Oram is extremely bright, articulate and has huge exposure. And he is clearly strongly committed to the cause.
Sorry David Cunliffe, Phil Goff, and Andrew Little, for just ruining your weekends."
Well, if Australian Liarbor can get ABC journalist Maxine McKeown to stand against John Howard in Bennelong (which she won), I am sure Dear Leader or her successor could easily get the SST's socialist business writer to throw his hat into the ring.
And is Queen Bee suggesting Oram would be no humble backbencher?

When I think about it, ndI've said it before, Rod Oram does look like a politician.
Probably a junior health minister in an early UK Tory government of th 1980s.
I think it's the mo.
So very dated.
But might he pass off as New Liarbour today?
