Muliaga memories

The inquest into Folole Muliaga begins this week.

Hopefully we will get to the bottom of what seems like an assisted suicide.

How can anyone sing and play the guitar and not call an ambulance while mum dies?

I am sure our memories will be refreshed enormously of the farce, but let us hope there is no pinko whitewash.

Let us remember that the family had failed to pay their bills.

The power company, Mercury Energy, was a state owned enterpise, only meeting targets set by finance minister Michael Cullen.

Their payment conditions were worse than that of private power companies, leading the government to change the law for SOEs.

Dear Leader milked the event for all it was worth, attending the funeral, when to some extent you might say SHE was guilty.

But champion milker is trades unionist Brendan Sheehan, who used the incident to gain a place as a Liarbour Party Election candidate.

I am sure Whale Oil, who has been following the Muliaga saga closely, will have much to say this week.

I guess the 'corpse cuddler' Brendan Sheehan, who has thratenened to send the boys round to see to the champion blogger, will too.

Let battle commence!

Oh, and one final comment.

If we had any doubts the family were bludgers who were to blame, they are removed by this little passage from the TVNZ story:

Her husband Lopaavea Muliaga has had to give up his job to be a full time parent

So no prizes for who's supporting the family now, but the poor oppressed taxpayer!

Well, your ability to turn these people into grist for a party political mill certainly puts Labour to shame, FFM...

Milt, consider the unashamed corpse-cuddling of compassionate leftist "family relative" Brenden Sheehan and the platitudinous Helen hearse-chaser Clark...all out for political points scoring.

You are a foolish little man.

psycho milt, you can't criticise FFM and not Helen Clark for turning people into "grist for a party political mill" unless you don't mind have 0% credibility. She milked that poor woman's death for all it was worth. Please just be honest and admit that. I'd be interested to know if you think Clark should attend the funeral of every patient who dies on a hospital waiting list? If not, why not? Clark and company have a lot more blood on their hands than some SOE power company.

Anon: I may be foolish, but at least you can identify who's writing. I'm going to lump you in with the army of anonymous fascists commenting on this blog and not bother responding further.

Iseered: OK, so on the one hand, we have Labour using these people as propaganda tools back when it happened, and getting plenty of stick for that from us on this blog back when it happened, and on the other we have FFM vilifying these people for the sake of party political propaganda right now. Which do you imagine I'm going to comment on in this thread?

PM, I wasn't aware of the case until after the 6pm news.
After the family had spoken to tvnz's Barbara Dreaver and well after the 'family spokesman' trades unionist and Liarbour election candidate had spoken to the Sunday Star-Times.
Naturally, as the inquest opens, the issue will be in the public domain.
The family and Sheehan have given their side first, so it is inevitable others with differing opinins will follow.

It seems the family did not know the seriousness of mum's illness.
Well, if the family did not know, then how could the power company and it's contractor!
We need to be looking at issues of personal responsibility here.

Well, for what it's worth, I share the view of presumably most readers of this blog, that the power company wasn't to blame for her death, and that it was grossly offensive for Labour to use her death for propaganda. That said, is there any reason why this blog should try to match Labour in the "grossly offensive" stakes?
