Another cock-up thanks to Liarbour sexism

Now, I thought Tumeke was a left-wing blog, but again some more sound commentary from Tim Selwyn.
After yesterday's fine condemnation of Cullen's billion dollar rail buy-out, i which Tim says Cullen should not be allowed out shopping alone, comes a fine piece on the corruption in the Immigration Department.
Obviously written before the Cullen piece and based on an article in the Sunday Star-Times, Tim notes how Liarbour's promotion of wimmin causes problems.
The 'sisterhood' has led to disaster after disaster within government, giving positive discrimination a bad name.
Cock-ups happening under the watch of the ladies include issues around the leaky homes fiasco, and the painted apple moth problem of West Auckland.
And now we have the scandal from the Immigration Department led by a woman who apparantly has close links with Heather Simpson (H2).
Tim Selwyn notes how Liarbour also cocked up with the over-promotion of Clint Rickards in the police force, simply because he was Maori, another matter giving positive discrimination a bad name.
Now, there could be other such cases of women and maori promoted beyond their abilities, with them just getting their job jobs simply because of the politcally-correct racism and sexism from the Liarbour Party. Do any others spring to mind?
Now, this is not to say women and Maori cannot have top jobs, I have worked under several Maori and women, and race and gender have not been an issue, but the many such cock-ups involving women bosses within government suggest Liarbour is failing in delivering competence and efficiency.
It also reflects badly on those women and Maori who do deliver, especially when people start thinking they got their roles on PC grounds.
Hat tip: Tumeke!

FFM I had been thinking of looking a the competencesof Liarbore's female ministers andlooking at their males too.
But I concluded they are all bad.
Incompetence reigns supreme with the miniters.
But yes you and Tim Selwyn raise an important iss: How have government standards, the efficient and proper management of our public departments being compromised at thealtr of politically correct recruitment.

While you're at it, why not go looking for middle-aged Caucasian men who have cocked up in the past? That'll illustrate how middle-aged Caucasian men should never be promoted to senior positions.

Get off the grass, and stop being prejudiced.

FFM - since you've mentioned it ('cos it's not really on the topic of government cronyism) here's a quiet word to you and others who might want to fire off flip comments about the painted apple moth affair: NOBODY knows the whole story except my partner, who was a paid employee working at the coalface between MAF and the residents. Trust me.

ps - which is not to say that I don't agree with you about the government's disgraceful record of appointing incompetents to key positions on the basis of their gender or sexual orientation - it's a long list that begins with the Speaker of the House and the Minister of Ethnic Affairs and goes on from there.

I'll think you'll find Harpoon that FFM does indeed get stuck into the incompetent middle-aged Caucasian men, especially those hired merely to "balance out" the party.

Indeed, posts on Cullen and Benson-Pope have been legendary here.

So what more do you want?

The point is, if you have a mandate to hire at least 50% women, or 80% Maori to hit some magic PC formula, you don't give people confidence that position is based on merit, and does no-one any good.
