"A decade of John Howard has left a country of timidity, fear and shame"

Those of our readers who don't share my fellow bloggers' enthusiasm for Howard may enjoy the Guardian's assessment.

Wow, a heap of nastiness written by a man whose innate racism and shallowness of thought is barely disguised by his inadequacies as a writer. Then again, that was in the grauniad.

yup. More quality journalism from the Guardian.
Excuse me while I throw up.

I'm not into attacking the person, but Richard Flanagan is a well-known author of fiction.
He's hardly mainstream and if the Guardian wanted to find a more convincing damnation of John Howard, I am sure they could have found someone or something better.

"Timidity, fear and shame".... Flanagan has made a serious navigation error; Its the eastern side of the Tasman that has these characteristics. Too many years of being run by paranoid and neurotic hens has done that to NZ. What's worse is NZ has meekly allowed it to happen.

"More quality journalism from the Guardian."

It was in their comment section - don't think anyone was presenting it as reportage.

Bounce, you dork, the article was an opinion piece, not a comment.
