'This desperation for any scrap of information, any document that can be flourished against him, seems to put into context the burglary of Mr Key's home while he was on a well-publicized overseas holiday, and the mysterious raids on his home garbage bins, detected by neighbours on several occasions. These were not homeless people, looking for discarded Parnell food portions. They were well-dressed operatives who took off swiftly when their activities were detected.'

Watergate Hotel
Who wrote this? Some faceless and unattributable editorial junior hack?
No, one of country's senior political scribes, Richard Long

It is more likely to be Mike Williams than Helen Clark who is behind these burglaries - he has the look of a real mobster.
Helen Clark is a criminal Prime Minister and New Zealand must go to an early election, so she can go to prison !
I understand the term 'plausible deniability' originated with the Watergate team.
Richard Long's about as partisan as it gets. "Even this right-wing National supporter thinks Labour did it!" isn't an argument I find very convincing, somehow.
Do you even know who Richard Long is?
Dim, yes.

I actually think you're drawing a rather long bow, and no matter how much I despise the Labour Party I wouldn't lay those kinds of charges without some rock solid evidence. Otherwise, we're just playing their game by their rules - and it's not worth it.
Having said that, for the benefit of Psycho Milt et. al., if you think Richard Long has any affection for John Key - personally or politically -, I'll just say I've heard another version of events. And heard it from a source I consider credible, because s/he doesn't have an axe to grind with either man.
The same Mike Williams might be the one who sourced the Nats emails for H1 & H2
Yes Craig it is a long bow but isn't that what blogs are for? You'll recall when Diane Foreman's place was burgled, leftist sympathisers were quick to put the story about that it was anti-Brash factions within National who were responsible. I don't believe that. In total, we have the Foreman burglaries, the Brash e-mails stolen, Key's rubbish bins ratted, Key's house burgled, a particular PI asked to spy on John Key and now strong indications from the industry that Labour is using PIs to dig dirt on Key.
There's a kinda big picture building, don't you think?
I've always thought that when a man looks like a gangster, talks like a gangster and acts like a gangster, it is London to a brick he is a gangster. I hope the IRD gets him.
There are other National Mp's whose houses have been broken into, very suspiciously only in the office. This is a fact as i know them personally.
